Description: Garlic is arguably one of the most popular spices in the world, cultivated for so long that its origin is impossible to pinpoint. Garlic has been introduced and enthusiastically embraced worldwide and is now found in almost every cuisine. While garlic is technically a vegetable (more precisely a bulb) it is typically classified as a spice, whether fresh or dried, because of its primary use as a seasoning. Also known as Dehydrated Garlic, Diced Garlic Flakes, and Dried Chopped Garlic, dry Minced Garlic of all the dry forms of garlic imparts the closest match in flavor and texture to fresh garlic and can be used in all of the same ways in any recipe (though you will want to rehydrate in water before frying or sautéing). Compared to fresh garlic, dry Minced Garlic delivers all of the intense flavor you would expect but with a slightly sweeter note and is best used in dishes with high liquid content and longer cooking times, as they need more time to hydrate, release their flavor, and infuse into the dish
Suggested Uses:
Dried Minced Garlic is extremely versatile and can be used almost anywhere you want to add a burst of garlicky flavor - When using as a substitution for fresh garlic in any recipe, use ½ teaspoon of dry minced for each clove of fresh garlic, ¾ teaspoon of fresh minced, or ½ teaspoon of garlic paste
- To rehydrate, soak in water for 15 minutes before draining and using to fry, sauté, and stir fry or to add to dips or other low or no cook time dishes
- Add to marinades, sauces, soups, stews, burger or meatloaf mixes, and even breadcrumbs for a garlic flavored breading for fried or baked foods
- Add to dry rubs and seasoning blends for incredible garlicky flavor and pleasant texture
- Add to pickling and brine mixes where the long 'soaking' process allows the flavor to fully infuse
- Sprinkle over vegetables potatoes, meats, and fish before roasting for a tasty addition of texture
