Description: 'Tandoori' literally means 'from the tandoor' but, having access to one of these traditional ovens is not required to produce incredible tandoori style dishes! Tasmanian Spice Traders' hand crafted Tandoori Masala will deliver the incredible authentic flavor of tandoori dishes whether you use a traditional charcoal fired tandoor, the good ol’ grill, or even your kitchen oven. Blended of premium Indian spices to impart maximum flavor, this highly aromatic mixture has a complex, rich, savory, earthy, and smoky flavor with a slight spiciness that will tantalize your senses and have your taste buds begging for more!

Tasmanian Spice Traders' proprietary Tandoori Masala does not contain any added salt allowing the cook to season to their taste making it perfect for those requiring a limited salt intake and allowing everyone the flexibility to season their meals to their own preferences.

Suggested Uses

For a traditional tandoori marinade for authentic Tandoori Chicken, Lamb, Shrimp, Paneer, Tofu, Vegetables of all sorts, and more, whisk together 3 Tablespoons Tandoori Masala with 1 Cup full-fat yogurt, 4 cloves fresh garlic ground into a paste, 2 Tablespoons fresh ginger ground into a paste, 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil, the juice of 1 lemon, and salt to taste (apx 1 teaspoon) to use with 1.5 - 2 lbs of your chosen main ingredient

  • Use the traditional marinade (above) as a dipping sauce for roasted vegetables or flatbreads
  • Use the traditional marinade to make Indian inspired baby back ribs, beef or pork short ribs, and even chicken wings
  • Use Tasmanian Spice Traders' Tandoori Masala as a dry rub for meats poultry, fish, seafood or vegetables before grilling, roasting, or frying
  • Dust over kababs, burgers, corn-on-the-cob, scrambled or deviled eggs, popcorn, french fries, smashed or baked potatoes, potato chips, or anything else you can think of
  • It makes a great ‘general’ curry powder that can be used in all of the same ways making it an extremely versatile blend!
